Excerpt: Arboretum at the University of Central FloridaThe Arboretum of the University of Central Florida is located on the main campus of the University of Central Florida in Orlando, Florida, USA. Covering 80 acres .32 km), it contains more than 600 species of plants, including more than 100 bromeliads, in cultivated gardens. Due to the hurricanes of 2005, the Arboretum is receiving a major restructuring that will lead to new collections arranged by geographical area. The new design also entails picnic tables, running trails, and a disc golf course. Established by President Trevor Colbourn in 1983, The Arboretum began with approximately 12 acres (49,000 m) of a disturbed pond pine community on the east side of the developed part of campus, east of the present biology building. In 1988, at President Altmans direction, the University expanded the Arboretum to include a 5-acre (20,000 m) Cypress dome, an oak hammock of about 3 acres (12,000 m), and about 15 acres (61,000 m) of sand pine and Florida scrub, connected to the original Arboretum by Sabal palmetto community and increasingly rare Florida longleaf pine flatwoods. During this time the director of the Arboretum was Dr. Henry O. Whittier. He would remain director of the Arboretum until his retirement 2003, when Dr. Whittier was replaced as director by Dr. Martin Quigley. In 2004, Hurricane Charley decimated the pond pine community on the original 12 acres (49,000 m) destroying most of the canopy. This area is currently being restored to its original state by the UCF Environmental… More:

Excerpt: The Asian Tour is the principal men’s professional golf tour in Asia except for Japan, which has its own Japan Golf Tour, which is also a full member of the International Federation of PGA Tours. The Asian Tour is administered from offices in Singapore. It is controlled by a board with a majority of professional golfers, and a Tournament Players Committee of its player members, supported by an executive team. The Executive Chairman of the Board is the Burmese professional golfer Kyi Hla Han. The first season in the current lineage was played in 1995, although there had been earlier attempts to create an Asian Tour. The Asian PGA was formed in July 1994 at a meeting in Hong Kong attended by PGA representatives from eight countries. In 1998 the Asian Tour became the sixth member of the International Federation of PGA Tours. In 2002, the tour moved its office from Hong Kong to Malaysia and in 2004 the tour was taken over by a new organisation established by the players, who had been in dispute with the previous management. In 2007 it moved to new headquarters on the resort island of Sentosa in Singapore, which is also the home of the tour’s richest sole sanctioned tournament, the Singapore Open. Official money events on the tour count for World Golf Ranking points. Most of the leading players on the tour are Asian, but players from other parts of the world also participate (as of 2007 the country with most representatives profiled on the tour’s official site is Australia). Each year the Asian Tour co-sanctions a number of events with the PGA European Tour, in countries such as China, Malaysia and Indonesia, with these events offering higher prize funds than most of the other tournaments on the tour as a result. From 2008, 50 per cent of players… More:

Augusta and Aiken in Golf's Golden Age (Images of Sports Series)

Augusta and Aiken in Golf’s Golden Age (Images of Sports Series)

$6.49

The game of golf got its start in the Southeastern United States in 1892 on four holes with sand greens at Palmetto Golf Club in Aiken, South Carolina. Within five years, Palmetto had expanded to eighteen holes and the first nine-hole course in neighboring Augusta, Georgia was designed at the Hotel Bon Air. For half a century, the Augusta-Aiken area flourished as the winter destination of choice for the rich, famous, and powerful in America. Presidents Taft, Harding, and Eisenhower vacationed here. Baseball great Ty Cobb bought a home in Augusta’s quaint Summerville neighborhood. It was here that Bobby Jones began the improbable journey towards a Grand Slam, then built his dream golf course. By the turn of the century, winter tourism and grand resort hotels in the Augusta-Aiken area were well established. A favorable winter climate and easy rail access drew vacationers to Highland Park Hotel (1866), Willcox Hotel (1898), and Park in the Pines (1900) in Aiken; Hotel Bon Air (1890) and Partridge Inn (1913) in Augusta; and Hampton Terrace Hotel and Golf Club (1903) in North Augusta. Resorts in Florida and the growth of the air travel industry later coupled to mark the area’s decline in winter tourism, but not before Augusta-Aiken’s place in golf history was secure. In this unique volume, vintage images and accompanying text recall the unfo rgettable legends, the meticulously maintained courses, and all of the grandeur associated with the game.

BEN HOGAN: AN AMERICAN LIFE is the biography golfers and golf fans have been waiting for. Like Richard Ben Cramer’s Joe DiMaggio and David Maraniss’s When Pride Still Mattered, this meticulously researched book goes behind the myths and provides the complete, unvarnished, and often surprising story of one of the greatest sportsmen of all time.Ben Hogan established many of golf’s most memorable milestones. In 1953, he entered eight tournaments and won five—including the Masters, the U.S. Open, and the British Open—the Hogan Grand Slam. His performance marked the beginning of the era of modern golf, triggering the Tour’s explosive growth and popularity. The most astonishing thing about that record-setting year is that Hogan was plagued by the devastating physical effects of an automobile crash that nearly killed him in early 1949. As James Dodson reveals, Hogan’s stunning comeback at Merion in 1950 was simply one of many extraordinary events in a legendary career filled with ups and downs and a life lived within such impenetrable privacy that no contemporary golfer, tournament organizer, or sports reporter could claim to really know the most prominent and talked about player of the era. Dodson, who had unprecedented access to Hogan’s family and friends, tells the full, inside story of Hogan’s remarkable life for the first time. He uncovers the emotional strains Hogan experienced, including his intense desire for personal privacy, the carefully guarded secrets of his marriage, and ultimately, his unchanging love for and loyalty to his wife. Filled with fascinating details and deeply poignant insights, this book brings to life golf’smost mythical and misunderstood figure—and a nostalgic American era—as never before. Dodson’s award-winning lyrical style, and persistence in getting to the heart of Hogan’s protected inner life, ensure that BEN HOGAN: AN AMERICAN LIFE will become a classic.

Development of microbial community structure in turfgrass rootzone mixtures varying by amendment, age, presence of plants, and environment.

$49.99

The stability of turfgrass golf green rootzone mixtures depends on the development of a stable microbial community structure. Factors affecting microbial community development are age of the turfgrass, the location of golf greens, and the amendments added. The objective of this study was to evaluate methods for assessment of turfgrass rootzone microbial community structure and function and to apply them to field situations. Methods were identified to evaluate the microbial community in these rootzone mixtures. Metabolic diversity (BIOLOG), dehydrogenase activity, bacterial plate counts, and phospholipid fatty acid analysis were performed on turfgrass green rootzone mixture samples collected from a bench top study, established golf courses, a greenhouse study, and replicated field plots.;The utility of each of the measures of microbial communities in evaluating turfgreen stability varied between the levels of complexitiy of the study (i.e. laboratory vs. greenhouse vs. field situation). In the bench top study, BIOLOG, dehydrogenase activity, and bacterial plate counts revealed differences in the microbial community as affected by the base material of the rootzone (sand, soil) and rate of peat moss amendment. In sampling of established golf courses, BIOLOG showed differences in the microbial community, based on age of the rootzone; it was not clear if these differences were due to age or other factors such as management. In a greenhouse study, BIOLOG showed differences in the microbial community, in rootzones varying by amendement and presence of turfgrass. Fatty acid data indicated some grouping based on amendment. Dehydrogenase and bacterial plate counts did not correlate to amendment or presence of turfgrass. Dehydrogenase did show correlation with bacterial signature fatty acids detected. A final study evaluated replicate field plots varying by amendment and microclimates. BIOLOG showed grouping based on microclimate and amendment. Fatty acid data did not vary

In the rest of the world, they call it the Open Championship. Americans call it the British Open, but if any tournament is considered the battle for the world championship of golf, it is the one held annually on the great links courses of Scotland and England, the birthplace of the game. By the time the 1977 Open came to Turnberry on Scotland’s west coast, Jack Nicklaus had established himself as the greatest champion the golf world has ever known, well on his way to the record that Tiger Woods would spend his childhood dreaming of and pointing toward. The sight of Nicklaus on the leaderboard was enough to make strong golfers shake. Everyone knew that Nicklaus was the man to beat in every major championship he entered. At the same time, Tom Watson had become the latest golfer to be heralded as the “Next Nicklaus.” Watson had overcome his reputation for choking in big tournaments and was beginning to be viewed by his peers as the top player of his generation. He had won two majors, but there were still questions about his ability to stand up under the fiercest pressure. There are few moments in sports when it is clear to one and all that a torch has been passed. The 1977 Open Championship at Turnberry was one such event. The weather was uncharacteristically warm, British golf fans bared their pink skin to the unfamiliar sun, and the course played hard and fast. Nicklaus and Watson were tied after the first two rounds. Nicklaus shot a blistering 65-66 over the last two days to post a 72-hole score that set a tournament record; but Watson, paired with Nicklaus over those fateful 36 holes, looked Jack in the eye and shot 65-65 to win by a stroke. And the Next Nicklaus had been found at last, even as the original kept winning major tournaments — but the air of invincibility was gone forever. Michael Corcoran takes the drama of this rare moment in golf history and brings it to vivid life. He draws on his interviews with competitors, caddies,

Excerpt: Faro is a small town in the central Yukon, Canada, formerly the home of the largest open pit leadzinc mine in the world as well as a significant producer of silver and other natural resource ventures. The mine was built by the Ralph M. Parsons Construction Company of the USA with General Enterprises Ltd. of Whitehorse being the main subcontractor. Currently (June 2007) the population is 400, considerably lower than its peak of over 2,100 in February 1982. Faro was named after the card game. Though these industries have declined over the past decade, Faro is attempting to attract eco-tourists to the region to view such animals as Dall’s Sheep and Stone’s Sheepa species of mountain sheep almost unique to the surrounding area. Several viewing platforms have been constructed in and around the town. One unique feature of Faro is that it has a golf course running through the main part of town. Residents are also treated to frequent sightings of wildlife. Lorne Greene, famous for his work in Bonanza, once narrated a film about Faro called A New World In the Yukon. The area was prospected in the 1950s and 1960s by Al Kulan, credited with discovering several significant deposits of lead and zinc ore and playing a major role in the discovery of the Faro Mine, which became Canada’s largest lead-zinc mine. The Cyprus Anvil Mining Corporation established the first operations to mine the deposits, and established the town of Faro. A new highway was built between Carmacks and Ross River to serve the Faro area – initially numbered Highway 9, it is today part of the Robert… More:

Large patch is caused by the fungus Rhizoctonia solani AG 2-2 LP. The disease occurs during spring, late summer, and early fall on warm season turfgrasses in the transition zone and is quite destructive to zoysiagrass in Northwest Arkansas. Symptoms include irregular patches up to several meters in diameter and distinct lesions on the leaf sheaths and stems. Management of large patch with fungicides is expensive and complete control is almost never achieved. This has led others to suggest that other microorganisms are associated with the disease. The objectives of this study were to determine if patches occurred season after season in the same location and if other microorganisms contributed to the severity of large patch disease. To accomplish the first objective, test plots were established on fairways at two golf courses where disease was active. Each plot was 7 x 14-m and patch locations were recorded on a 10cm grid. Data were recorded in spring 2007, spring and fall 2008, and spring 2009. The number of diseased points increased with each sequential recording and many occurred at or contiguous to diseased points from the previous season. To accomplish the second objective, isolates were collected in spring 2007 from leaf sheaths and in spring 2008 from leaf sheaths, stems and rhizomes of zoysiagrass with active large patch disease. Isolates were grouped by morphological characteristics, and isolates from each group were tested for pathogenicity on zoysiagrass cultivars ‘Meyer’ and ‘Cavalier’. Seven groups (Rhizoctonia solani AG2-2 (LP), Gaeumannomyces graminis var. graminis, three Fusarium spp. , one Pythium sp. and an unidentified sterile white basidiomycete) were pathogenic and were re-tested alone and in combination with R. solani AG2-2 (LP) on both cultivars. No combination of any isolate and R. solani significantly increased disease over R. solani alone but G. graminis var. graminis and R. solani AG2-2 (LP) caused significant disease alone and were not

Vitazyme was applied at 13 fl oz/A and 26 fl oz/A with and without complete fertilizer to seeded Princess 77 bermudagrass, established TifSport bermudagrass, established Princess 77 bermudagrass at the Tarleton State University Turfgrass Field Laboratory (TFL), and established common bermudagrass at a local golf course. In the seeded trial, Vitazyme in combination with fertilizer increased quality, percent cover, and density compared to the nontreated. Differences were noted between fertilized and non-fertilized treatments for quality in TifSport and established Princess 77 bermudagrass trials. Significant differences among most treatments were determined using a Field Scout 1000 Chlorophyll Meter.

Today the park consists of 100 acres (40 hectares) of follies and landscaped parkland grounds and rocky outcrops, based around the authentic Norman castle of Red Castle. The Hawkstone house was established by Richard Hill of Hawkstone (1655-1727), also known as ‘The Great Hill’, circa 1707, whilst the follies, estate and reputation were mainly established by his nephew and heir Sir Rowland Hill, 1st Baronet Hill of Hawkstone (1705-1783) and Sir Richard Hill, 2nd Baronet (1733-1808) in the 18th century. The park then fell foul of a century of neglect and decay until an ongoing programme of restoration was started in 1990, enabling it to be re-opened in 1993. It is now scheduled as Grade-1 listed on the National Register of Historic Parks and Gardens. It takes a 2.5 hour hiking tour to completely see each folly and their landscapes (a reasonable level of physical fitness and mobility is required and there are many steps, ascents and descents). At some times of the year, not all site trails are accessible. Verner Johnson and Associates of Boston, Massachusetts. They also produced the museum master plan that established the overall size, mission and qualities of the overall museum and the surrounding facilities and site. The Hall of Fame Museum features a permanent exhibition and a rolling program of temporary exhibitions. Designed by museum design firm Ralph Appelbaum Associates, the Hall of Fame and exhibition area contains exhibits on the game’s history, heritage, and techniques; major players and organizations; golf course design, equipment, and dress; and new directions, such as ecological concerns in course management. The World Golf Hall of Fame was originally located in Pinehurst, North Carolina, and was privately operated by Diamondhead Corp., then owners of the Pinehurst Resort. It opened in September 1974 with an initial class of 13 members. To start with it was a local project, but the PGA of America took over management in 1983 and acquired full ownership in 1986. Two other halls of fame have been merged into the World Golf Hall of Fame. The PGA of America established one in 1940, which was merged into the Pinehurst Hall in the 1980s. The Hall of Fame of Women’s Golf was established by the LPGA in 1951, with four charter members: Patty Berg, Betty Jameson, Louise Suggs, and Babe Zaharias. It was previously named the South African winter Tour, the FNB Winter Tour and the South African Tour. This list contains golfers who have won any number of events that are and/or have been recognized as professional golf events in South Africa. There are some complications in preparing such a list, and different publications have produced different numbers. The Sunshine Tour is based in primarily in South Africa with a few events held in neighbouring countries including Swaziland, Zambia, Namibia, and in the past Zimbabwe. Originally known as the Sunshine Circuit, the tour was known simply as the Southern Africa Tour, or Southern Africa PGA Tour, until the start of the 2000/2001 season when it was rebranded as the Sunshine Tour.

Excerpt: Greystones – Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Greystones is located south of the site of an ancient castle of the Barony of Rathdown. There was a hamlet which, like the castle, was known as Rathdown, and which appeared on a 1712 map. This site occupied an area now known as the Grove, north of Greystones harbour, but only the ruins of a chapel, St. Crispin’s Cell, survive. Greystones is a much more recent settlement and is first mentioned in Topographia Hibernica, a 1795 publication. Here it is described as a “noted fishing place four miles beyond Bray.” Greystones, viewed from the NorthIn the early 1800s, there were some families scattered around the harbour, Blacklion, Windgates, Killincarrig and Rathdown. Delgany was a more substantial and longer established village. However, Greystones was put on the map with the coming of the railway in 1855, a difficult undertaking which was performed in consultation with Isambard Kingdom Brunel, the famous engineer. The train station was built on the line dividing the properties of two landowners; the La Touche family of Bellevue House (now in ruins, near Delgany), and the Hawkins-Whitshed family of Killincarrig House (which is now Greystones Golf Club). It provided links with Bray and Dublin, and left room for development on the adjoining estates. In the latter half of the nineteenth century, under the ownership of William Robert La Touche, Greystones’ development gathered momentum. To the north of the station, Church Road, Victoria Road, and Trafalgar Road were laid out and many houses were built in the years following the arrival of the railway. Follow… More:

Excerpt: The California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) is the governing body for high school sports in the state of California. It mirrors similar governing bodies in other states; however, it differs from others in that it covers most high schools in the state of California, both public and private. Few exceptions exist; five California high schools compete in the Nevada Interscholastic Activities Association instead, due to their proximity to Nevada and the difficulty they face in traveling to other California schools. CIF is a non-profit corporation. It is based in Alameda, California. The CIF was founded in Los Angeles, California in 1914 by a group of area school principals. It was founded in order to standardize rules and team structures between schools; it was also intended to prevent abuses such as “school shopping” by athletes and teams fielding players over high school age. Other school principals voluntarily entered into the program, and by 1917, the organization was established statewide. In 2005, CIF required that all student athletes sign a promise to not take any steroids or they face expulsion. CIF holds sectional championship events in the sports of American football, basketball, cross country (traditionally hosted at Woodward Park in Fresno), golf, track and field, girls volleyball, water polo, and wrestling. In addition, swimming times and diving scores are compared based on final results at section meets and ranked statewide to determine a state champion. However, there is no state championship meet. Hoke County, North Carolina (Images of America Series)

$14.81

Hoke County is located in the Sandhills region of North Carolina between the beaches and mountains. In the beginning, the countryside was covered with magnificent pine forest. Most of the early settlers were Highland Scots who started many of the region’s churches. As communities grew, families were concerned about the education of their children. The first high school, Raeford Institute, was established in 1891. The village of Raeford, now the county seat, was chartered in 1901. J. W. McLauchlin, known as the father of Hoke County, was a state senator from Cumberland County. He introduced a bill in 1911 to form Hoke County from parts of Cumberland and Robeson Counties. Today the county has two golf courses, a wind tunnel, an ethanol plant, the Carolina Horse Park, Burlington Industries, and Unilever. The Fort Bragg Military Reservation covers a large part of the county, increasing the military population. Hoke is one of the top five fastest growing counties in North Carolina due to Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC).

Moore County, North Carolina (Images Of America Series)

$19.99

With Moore County, author Richard Schloegl has created an enticing look back at the past of a region rich in local lore and tradition. Readers journey back to a fascinating time when the introduction of the railroad spurred great developments throughout the towns and virgin pine forests of Moore County. The coming of the Raleigh and Augusta Railroad in 1877 dramatically changed the face of virtually every community in the region. Small towns sprang up along its route to serve as shipping points for the expanding lumber and turpentine industries–trades that would energize and sustain the region for over two decades. When the forest resources began to show signs of exhaustion, the resort industry took hold. The timbered-over land was inexpensive and the communities of Jackson Springs, Southern Pines, Pinebluff, and Pinehurst quickly developed. These areas became health resorts, known for the medicinal qualities of their mineral water, fresh air, and gentle climate. The introduction of golf in 1897 changed the face of the region once again. Pinehurst was soon established as a golfing mecca of international renown, where names like Donald Ross, Glenna Collett, Francis Ouimet, and Harry Varden were forever etched into golf legend.

In 1926, Earl Oglebay willed his summer estate, Waddington Farm, to the city of Wheeling with the hope that it would provide entertainment and education to the community. He and naturalist A.B. Brooks, both mavericks in ecology and agricultural training, established the unique environmental emphasis still evident in the park’s nature center, trails, Discovery Lab, and zoo. The 1,650-acre municipal park nestled in the Wheeling hills also features Wilson Lodge, the premier hotel in the area, and 49 log cabins that pay tribute to the community’s storied frontier past. The cabins and the Pine Room Pool were built in the 1930s by the Civilian Conservation Corps. Those brave young men, along with a famous golf course architect, Bob Biery, created the Oglebay Caddy Camp, which has been featured in several major golf magazines. Today, Oglebay Park hosts festivals, legendary jazz bands, and top-notch equestrian events. The park’s Winter Festival of Lights is considered to be the nation’s largest light show.

Since 2007 Frost has re-established his career on the European Tour. Frost won the Sunshine Tour Order of Merit in 1998/99. The brothers’ twin vision made Palm Desert the irresistible blend of city and wilderness it is today. Visitors can shop El Paseo, known as the “Rodeo Drive of the Desert,” then in 10 minutes embark on a mountainous thrill ride-the Palms to Pines Highway.

Excerpt: Chandler, Arizona – Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia In 1891, Dr. Alexander John Chandler, the first veterinary surgeon in Arizona Territory, settled on a ranch south of Mesa, studying irrigation engineering. By 1900, he had acquired 18,000 acres (73 km²) of land, and began drawing up plans for a townsite on what was then known as the Chandler Ranch. The townsite office opened on May 17, 1912, the same year that Chandler High School was established. By 1913, a town center had become established, featuring the luxurious Hotel San Marcos, the first golf resort in the state. Most of Chandler’s economy was successfully sustained during the Great Depression (a second San Marcos hotel was canceled due to the Depression however), but the cotton crash a few years later had a much deeper impact on the city’s residents. Later, the founding of Williams Air Force Base in 1941 led to a small surge in population, but Chandler still only held 3,800 people by 1950. By 1980, it had grown to 30,000, and it has since paced the Phoenix metropolitan area’s high rate of growth, with vast suburban residential areas swallowing former agricultural plots. Some of this growth was fueled by the establishment of manufacturing plants for communications and computing firms such as Microchip, Motorola and Intel, but despite the inclusion of many large businesses, Chandler is often considered a bedroom community for the greater Phoenix metropolitan area. While the suburbs boomed, the downtown area of Chandler became more impoverished, and complaints over crime in the downtown area led in 1997 to the ill-fated Chandler Roundup, a joint operation between local police and federal immigration authorities in which 432 illegal immigrants were arrested and deported. With the 50th Anniversary of Victory in World War II comes PROTECT & AVENGE: The 49th Fighter Group in World War II. After six years of research, author and illustrator S.W. Ferguson, Along with 49ERS Association historian William K. Pascalis, have recreated the war-year’s odyssey of the famous 49ERS, the most successful fighter group in the war against Japan. Flyers’ Paul Wrutsmith, Bob Morrissey, Ernie Harris, Gerry Johnson, Bob DeHaven and leading American ace Dick Bong, are but a few of the men who contribute to the 49ERS legend. From their desert air strips of Northwest Territory, Australia, through their jungle camps of New Guinea and the Philippines, to the final moment of victory on the Japanese homeland, all are detailed in this new volume. Derived from the diaries and logs of 49ERS veterans, the group’s official USAF history and the U.S. National Archives, the story chronicles more than thirty aces and their crews who achieved over 600 aerial kills in three years of continuous combat. The text is highlighted by more than 600 black and white photos, six compaign maps, and twenty-four color profiles of select P-40s, P-57s, and P-38s. S.W. Ferguson lives in Colorado Springs where he has pursued his teaching, writing and art career for the last ten years. His interests are American writers and history of the 20th century, and swift waters that yield trout. Bill Pascalis is a veteran aircraft mechanic of the 49ERS Selfridge AFB cadre and served through the New Guinea campaign of mid-1943. After the war, he established a long career with Tranworld Airlines. He now lives with his wife in retirement in Florida, enjoying golf, his grandchildren and research in the 5th Air Forcearchives.

Temple Terrace, Florida (Images of America Series)

$14.49

The influential and adventurous Chicago socialite Mrs. Potter Palmer (Bertha) struck out for Florida in 1910, eventually buying thousands of acres of land across the state. In 1914, after setting up residence in Sarasota, she established Riverhills, a hunting preserve on 19,000 acres in the area now known as Temple Terrace. Local historians believe it was Palmer’s vision to create one of America’s first planned golf course communities, where every Mediterranean Revival villa sold would include its own grove. Intended to provide a hobby and part-time income for the wealthy Northerners lured to the Sunshine State, 5,000 acres were planted with the exotic hybrid Temple orange–making up the largest citrus grove in the world at the time. The new city was named after the orange and for the sloping terrain of the land along the Hillsborough River.

They threw the book at Madoff. Now here’s the book he needs. While many books are offered for the CEO who aims to survive the cutthroat competition of the corporate jungle, not a single one offers to help those same CEOs when the law catches up with them. That is, until now. This book offers valuable advice for those executives who have cooked the books, and now find themselves paying the price. Borowitz covers all aspects of prison life, from exit strategies (prison-break tips) to ways of keeping the business acumen sharp (how to make the Warden your most valuable employee) to prison cell feng shui and even self-defense (how to use this book as a deadly weapon). Convicted corporate executives should look at this time spent in prison as an opportunity, rather than a disadvantage. New business contacts can be established, new management strategies tested-time can even be spent working on the golf game so it says sharp for ten, twenty, however many years. Direct from Bernie Madoff’s cellmate, Who Moved My Soap? The CEO’s Guide to Surviving in Prison is loaded with helpful tips, including: Complete Corporate-Speak/Prison Slang Glossary How to earn $$$ making vanity license plates Trophy wives, and how to avoid becoming one How to avoid getting back-stabbed literally Don’t forget, Who Moved My Soap? will be both small enough to fit in the pocket of your prison uniform, but also thick enough to hollow out and hide cigarettes in! It’s also a must read for those of us who were fleeced by them.

 Why Men Hide Behind Trees

Today’s black man has had his God-ordained manhood redefined by the masses of secular society. Hollywood movies and Hip Hop artists have taken manhood from a passionate love story about a strong male who loves his wife and children to a horror flick about thugs, ho’s and children born to a world of bling bling. We find ourselves spending more money on self image, golf courses, sporting events and alcohol, and then we give to our local Church. God came at the cool of the day to spend time with Adam in the garden. God did not see Adam when He approached the garden. God acknowledges the attitude, obedience, truthfulness, and Holy reverence. Some of the men in our churches may give the appearance of emptiness and void in their life. Adam and Eve were tied down in the misery of sin. Their sin had them taken out of the garden of paradise. Before God did so God in His mercy clothed Adam and established the hope of his redemption to return to paradise through the shedding of blood of Jesus Christ.

Excerpt: Wolfsburg – Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Wolfsburg was founded in 1938 as Stadt des KdF-Wagens (English: ), a planned town around the village of Hesslingen in the District of Gifhorn in order to house the workers of the Volkswagen factories. During World War II, there were also jeeps, airplanes and other military equipment built, mainly by forced workers and POWs at these factories. The train station of Wolfsburg was built by attorney of Adolf Hitler in order to transport or receive prefabricated parts for military equipment. In 1945, the city was renamed Wolfsburg after the castle of the same name located in the city, which was founded about 1300 on the bank of the Aller river. Today, there is another castle at the place, which was built after 1600. In 1951, Wolfsburg was separated from the District of Gifhorn, and became an urban district. In November 2003, Wolfsburg was renamed “Golfsburg” for one week to celebrate the 5th generation of the Volkswagen Golf. Centre of Wolfsburg lacks historical buildings, and the sights include new attractions like the Autostadt (a huge open air museum dedicated to automobiles, owned and operated by Volkswagen), a planetarium, the Phaeno Science Center, the largest hands-on science museum in Germany, and an excellent private art museum (Kunstmuseum Wolfsburg) specialised in modern and contemporary art. The old part of the city Alt Wolfsburg shows some manor buildings in traditional framework style. With the opening in 2000 of Autostadt and that of Phaeno, as well as restaurants and a Ritz Carlton Hotel, tourism increased. The most famous professional sports club in the city is VfL Wolfsburg, a football club that was established in 1945. They won the 2009 Fußball-Bundesliga. Ice hockey t… More:

Please note that the content of this book primarily consists of articles available from Wikipedia or other free sources online. Zagat Survey was established by Tim and Nina Zagat in 1979 as a way to collect and correlate the ratings of restaurants by diners. For their first guide, covering New York City, the Zagats surveyed their friends. As of 2005, the Zagat Survey included 70 cities, with reviews based on the input of 250,000 individuals reporting over the years. In addition to restaurants, Zagat guides rate hotels, nightlife and shopping, zoos, music, movies, theater, golf, and airlines. The guides are sold in book form, as software for personal digital assistants and mobile phones, and by paid subscription on the Web.
